The qualifications included subjects covering: Project Management, Business Studies, Management, Housing, Advice and Guidance, Construction Management, Letting and Managing Residential Property and Resident Scrutiny.

A celebratory event was held at Kingdom’s Glenrothes head office where the staff received their ‘celebrating success’ certificates.

Bill Banks, Kingdom’s chief executive, congratulated the staff on their achievements when he presented the certificates.

He said: “For many years one of our strategic objectives has been to be an employer of choice and our Board are very supportive of our various learning and development programmes. Everyone who has achieved their qualifications should feel very proud, the input and commitment of staff, who undertake formal qualifications, should not be under-estimated, particularly whilst working full time.”

Bill added: “Investing in staff learning and development pays dividends through improved staff satisfaction and motivation and delivers enhanced and improved services to our customers.”

One of the staff members who was recognised, maintenance officer Mike Hargreaves, said: “I completed my HNC in Construction Management and when I first started the course I found it difficult to get into studying, having been away from it for a while. However, I found it really worthwhile and it has really helped me with my work at Kingdom.”

Mike is continuing his studies and is now studying for an HND.

Alison Paterson, Kingdom’s housing team leader for tenancy services, who completed the CIH Level 3 Certificate in Letting and Managing Residential Property, said: “We manage around 500 mid-market rented properties and I found the course very beneficial, given the differences required when managing social and private rented tenancies.”

The Association has various ongoing learning and development programmes for staff, including management training programmes and a formal trainee programme. Other staff members are also currently undertaking formal qualifications.

Andrew Latto, Kingdom’s head of HR, who attended the recent celebratory event, congratulated the staff and said: “Learning and development programmes provide both a personal benefit to the people undertaking the studies and to the organisation. The latest cohort of staff who have gained their qualifications are providing inspiration to others at Kingdom who can see the benefits and want to follow their example.”
