Kingdom Support & Care holds inaugural staff conference in Dunfermline
Across three half-days 212 staff from Kingdom Support & Care gathered at the Carnegie Conference Centre in Dunfermline for the Fife-based care provider’s first ever staff conference.
The event gave staff a welcome opportunity to come together to celebrate success and share knowledge that will help them continue to deliver life-changing services across Fife and the Forth Valley.
Kingdom Support & Care (KSC) provides over 8,500 hours of high-quality personalised support each week that helps people live independently in their own homes, living the lives they choose for themselves and achieving their full potential.
Hosted by Paul White, executive director of Kingdom Support & Care, the event welcomed guest speakers from the Kingdom Group, including group chief executive Tom Barclay and executive director of operations Susan McDonald. A range of colleagues in support roles also had the opportunity to share the stories of their own services. Stories that were at times emotional, but always uplifting.
Speaking about the staff conferences, Paul White said: “As well as hearing about the wider work of Kingdom Group, our conference provided a brilliant opportunity to bring KSC colleagues together to celebrate success and share learning. The nature of our work means that it isn’t always easy to have our staff come together at events like this while still providing the fantastic levels of service and support our customers expect from us.
“Having the event over three half days allowed us to have the best of both worlds, delivering our objective of great support, great lives and having our people, who are our most valuable asset, benefit from meeting colleagues from other areas and sharing knowledge and best practice as we look to the future.
“At a personal level, the event allowed me to get to know many of our dedicated Support Workers and understand what matters to them.”
Linzie Kerr, a senior support worker with Kingdom Support & Care, said: “I left the conference feeling valued and proud of what we do and the lives we change. It was nice to see what other services are doing and the support they give. It was also really nice to see other people within the organisation that I’ve never met.”
