Kingdom Support & Care staff receive ‘Wall of Fame’ recognition
Kingdom Support & Care (KSC) staff have been recognised for their outstanding achievements at an award ceremony held virtually for the first time.
The 2021 ‘Wall of Fame’ awards saw staff recognised for their dedication and commitment over the last 2 years after the 2020 awards were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Across three categories, the peer-judged awards highlighted creativity, teamwork and outstanding support delivered during unprecedented times.
Kingdom Support and Care is the subsidiary of Kingdom Housing Association that provides high-quality personalised support and care to over 300 individuals across Fife and Falkirk, helping them to live independent lives in their own homes.
Norah Smith, director of KSC, said: “The ‘Wall of Fame’ awards celebrate the amazing work done throughout Kingdom Support & Care. Lots of the work goes unseen, but it’s definitely not unrecognised or unappreciated. The work done by the frontline workers as well as support service staff and managers is essential to the smooth running of the service, especially during a pandemic, and the awards recognise the creativity and agility of our people which has allowed us to deliver uninterrupted support throughout lockdown.”
Bill Banks, Kingdom Group chief executive, presented the awards and summarised the achievements of the winners as well as the work of ‘The Voice’, the staff consultative group who implemented the recognition scheme.
He added: “It was an honour to present the ‘Wall of Fame’ awards and to spend time with staff who do such great work day in and day out. The awards demonstrate how much we value our people, their hard work and dedication. Holding the ceremony online was a first for these awards and it went really well, though I hope it won’t be too long before we’re all able to get together again to hold events like this in person.”
Emma from the Falkirk Service was one of the ‘Wall of Fame’ winners and said: “Well done to all the nominees and winners, it really is a great sense of achievement to receive the award.
“I know many services are facing such challenging times seeking for the light once again, yet despite the challenges you make such a difference to the lives of the people you support. I work with an outstanding team at Falkirk who support one another incredibly well.
“Thank you for the award. It was an amazing pick-me-up and came just at the right time for me.”
