Kingdom takes Scottish Housing Day online
Kingdom Housing Association marked Scottish Housing Day 2020 by inviting tenants to spend an hour with their housing team, from the comfort of their own homes.
In a packed online programme which highlighted the value of social housing, the theme of Scottish Housing Day this year, Kingdom officially launched its Good Neighbour Awards and showcased the Connecting Scotland Initiative which aims to tackle digital exclusion among vulnerable tenants.
A discussion session answered some common tenancy questions and issues and Max Scotto, Kingdom’s tenant participation officer, explained how Kingdom actively encourages and promotes open discussion and dialogue and takes customer views and opinions into consideration when making decisions.
Attendees were also treated to the first showing of a new ‘Meet The Housing Team’ film and a light-hearted fun quiz to round off the sessions.
Bill Banks, Kingdom Group chief executive, opened the Zoom events and said afterwards: “The coronavirus pandemic meant that, this year, Kingdom’s support for Scottish Housing Day had to be virtual. The team put together a great programme for our tenants and it was very well received.
“The theme for Scottish Housing Day this year was celebrating the value of social housing. Providing good quality, affordable, housing and services is what Kingdom has been all about for over 40 years. That provision is about more than bricks and mortar. It’s also about the services we can provide to ensure all our tenants feel happy, comfortable, safe and secure in their homes. Engaging with tenants at events such as these is vital for helping us steer a course to provide More Than A Home.”
