Landmark affordable homes project delivered for Glasgow West Housing Association
Fifty-five affordable apartments have been completed in Glasgow city centre and handed over by The JR Group to client partners Glasgow West Housing Association (GWHA).
The substantial Dover Street development, which sits in a prime location in Finnieston with easy access to the west end, also includes a commercial unit on the ground floor.
The JR Group completed the landmark project for GWHA which made the apartments available for social rent have now seen residents pick up the keys to their new homes.
To extend a warm welcome to new residents, The JR Group supplied a welcome pack for each apartment which included key household items including a kettle, kitchen utensils, bedding and toiletries.
While undertaking the project, which started in 2021, the construction team also supported local primary schools in the area. Easter eggs and Christmas selection boxes were donated to Anderson Primary School, as well as two benches for its playground.
Building items were also donated to Glasgow Gaelic School in Finnieston which were used for a project focused on construction.
Gary McGregor, managing director at The JR Group, said: “We’re pleased to see the completion of this milestone project and residents enjoying their new homes. We hope the welcome packs have helped residents start to feel at home with a few key items they may need.
“This is a fantastic city location, close to Glasgow City Centre as well as the west end, and has helped to meet the need for new, high-quality housing in the area.
“We worked closely with Glasgow West Housing Association, Coltart Earley Architects and AECOM Engineers to bring the apartments to life.
“As well as creating the high-quality homes here, we also supported the wider community through donations to local schools during our time on site.”
