Langstane Housing Association has been granted a generous donation of 15 Chromebooks from law firm Harper Macleod.

This contribution will greatly enhance resources for the tenant scrutiny group, with additional Chromebooks allocated to vulnerable tenants in need.

Recently, the Langstane Housing Support Service presented one of these Chromebooks to a tenant who is an enthusiastic and skilled cook. He often shares his culinary creations with neighbours and is thrilled to receive the Chromebook, which he uses to access online recipes, further developing his skills and interests. This initiative underscores the association’s commitment to supporting the community.

Harper Macleod is one of Scotland’s largest law firms. Its dedicated specialist social housing practice has been advising the sector for more than 30 years. Harper Macleod advises more than 80 Registered Social Landlords across the country which, collectively, own or manage 75% of the entire RSL housing stock in Scotland.

The donation of these Chromebooks will enable the tenant scrutiny group to conduct their services more efficiently and effectively. By providing access to essential technology, Harper Macleod is empowering tenants to engage more actively, ensuring their voices are heard in the decision-making processes that affect their lives and communities.

“Thank you, Harper Macleod, for your generous donation,” said Judith Sutherland, director of housing at Langstane Housing Association. “This incredible gesture not only supports our tenant scrutiny group, but it will also undoubtedly have a real impact on the group’s digital access and learning. Together, we can ensure that every tenant’s voice is not only heard but valued.”

Harper Macleod said its commitment to corporate social responsibility exemplifies how businesses can make a meaningful impact in their communities. Langstane Housing Association is proud to partner with them as champions for positive change.

Derek Hogg, partner and head of Harper Macleod’s social housing team, said: “We’ve been privileged to support Langstane Housing Association for many years and understand that our partnership delivers real impact to the organisation and their tenants. Access to technology enables individuals and families to make a difference for their own wellbeing and that of their communities.”
