Langstane Housing Association celebrates 45th birthday
Langstane Housing Association turned 45 on Monday, 25 July 2022.
The association did not become registered until 10 October 1977, but was founded in July 1977 with two employees and 250 homes.
Langstane now boasts 78 employees and 2,886 homes plus hostels, commercial units, lead tenancies (homes that are leased from a private landlord and rented out) and shared ownership homes.
Given the economic climate, and as a simple way to mark the occasion, the Association created two Sapphire themed hampers – one for a tenant and one for an employee. Names were chosen at random and the lucky winners each receiving a hamper are the association’s customer service advisor, Zoe Chalmers and Laurencekirk based tenant Pamela Cooley.
Zoe Chalmers said: “On my first day back from annual leave I was told I had won the 45th anniversary hamper, it was such a lovely surprise. I’m looking forward to getting stuck into all the sapphire themed treats this weekend.
“Happy 45th anniversary to Langstane Housing Association and here is looking forward to our 50th in 2027.”
