Langstane Housing Association receives £1,000 donation from Station House Media Unit
Langstane Housing Association has received £1,000 from the Station House Media Unit (SHMU) which supports grassroots groups in Aberdeen to deliver new or extend existing activity in the community.
A total of £25,000 has been provided to SHMU to aid communities through funding from the Scottish Government‘s Supporting Communities Fund and is being delivered solely in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
The funding provided to the Association will assist vulnerable Langstane tenants during the crisis and will be used to provide practical help to tenants including starter packs, particularly for homeless applicants being re-housed, utility top-ups, shopping vouchers or food parcels and activity packs, particularly for tenants who are isolated or lonely.
On receiving the funding, Susan Penley, a support worker at the Association, commented: “It may just be a little help, but to someone with nothing, it could be everything.”
