Langstane Housing Association to make charitable donation in lieu of Christmas cards
Langstane Housing Association has decided to make a £350 donation to its charity of choice AberNecessities in lieu of sending traditional Christmas cards.
Recently the senior management team at the association considered a request from AberNecessities to provide sponsorship for Christmas Eve boxes. These will be distributed to local families who are struggling.
The charity aims to support local, underprivileged families in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire with the essential items they need to care for their babies and children.
Danielle Flecher-Horn, AberNecessities founder, said: “This incredibly kind support from Langstane Housing will allow us to create a truly special Christmas for so many children across our city and shire.
“Sadly, 2020 has been memorable for all the wrong reasons and we want to change that as best we can by getting our little ones into the festive spirit early by gifting a little bit of Christmas magic.
“Thanks to funding and kindness such as this we can make a real difference to a child’s overall wellbeing and happiness by providing them with special memories.”
Helen Gauld, chief executive at Langstane Housing Association, added: “We are all delighted that AberNecessities is able to use our modest donation to help so many families, bringing them a little bit of festive cheer in what has, for many people, been a very difficult year.”
