LAR chair recognised in New Year Honours List
Andrew Robertson, chair of the LAR Housing Trust, has been recognised in the Queen’s New Year Honours List for his contribution to affordable housing, veterans and healthcare.
Mr Robertson has been honoured with a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE). As well as his role as LAR’s chair he is also a former chair of Erskine Hospital, which provides medical care for British Armed Forces veterans and is a past chair of Greater Glasgow & Clyde NHS Board.
He said: “I have been incredibly fortunate to have worked with the most wonderful committee members and staff from the earliest days of the community based housing association movement in the early 1970’s. The level of commitment and deep understanding at all levels has been inspirational. It continues to be a huge privilege and my recent award has to be set within that perspective.”
Mr Robertson is a lawyer by profession and a former partner at TC Young.
LAR chief executive, Ann Leslie, said: “On behalf of all the staff and Board members I’d like to congratulate Andrew on this well deserved honour. It recognises the considerable contribution he has made across different sectors in Scottish society.”
