Lara Oyedele: CIH members should complete their EDI census
Lara Oyedele, president of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH), is asking members to complete their equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) census.
CIH is urging members to complete their EDI census to discover what their membership, and in turn, the housing profession looks like across the UK.
To sweeten the deal, every housing professional that completes the census by midnight on 30 June 2023 will be entered into a prize draw for £250 (either in a voucher of the winner’s choice or a charity donation of their choice). Everyone that has completed it so far has been automatically entered into the prize draw.
CIH launched the EDI census last year as Lara Oyedele launched her presidential campaign, In my shoes. Lara’s presidential campaign is focused on improving EDI, especially anti-racism, across the profession.
Last year when I became CIH president I made improving EDI, especially anti-racism, across the profession my absolute priority.
Just as I took over as president, CIH launched the EDI census and asked you, our members, to tell us a bit more about yourself. And while hundreds of you have responded, we want more. In fact, we need more – and this is my ask to you. If you are a CIH member, then please complete the EDI census.
Almost everyone I have spoken to over the last nine months shares my ambition to ensure that our sector represents the tenants and communities we all serve. Please now get involved and make a difference. Take two minutes to complete the census, tell us who you are, so we can discover what our membership, and in turn, the housing profession looks like across the UK so that we can ensure the next generation of members and housing professionals are even more representative of tenants and communities.
