The Association received the top score (6 – Excellent) for the second time in a row for the quality of care and support they provide to the 120 older people living in its three complexes at Hermitage Court, St Nicholas Court and Jameson Place in Leith.

Praise was also given for the high quality of staff, management and leadership in place, achieving a grade 5 (Very Good) in each of these categories.

The Inspectorate described the Association as being excellent at supporting people to reach their potential, to socialise and to feel that their voices are heard.

Keith Anderson, chief executive of Port of Leith Housing Association, said: “Being awarded the top grade for the quality of care and support in our sheltered housing complexes in two consecutive inspections is a ringing endorsement of the dedication and expertise of our sheltered housing staff, who pull out all the stops to provide our tenants with a secure, affordable home they enjoy living in. We’re also really pleased to have received grade fives for staffing, management and leadership once again.”

Maureen Tait, sheltered housing services manager, Port of Leith Housing Association, added: “After a very thorough unannounced inspection, I was absolutely thrilled when I discovered that we had earned the highest possible grade for the quality of care and support we provide. I’m really proud of our team.”
