Life begins at 40 for Grampian Housing Association
A birthday party themed event has been held by Grampian Housing Association for staff and board members to celebrate the Association’s 40thanniversary.
Facilitated by Mike Stevenson of Thinktastic, the day started with a ‘This is Your Life’ feature looking back at notable highlights in the Association’s 40 year history of innovation and achievement. These included being the first in Scotland to complete shared ownership, lead tenancy and self-funded developments as well as having piloted a range of tenure types.
The afternoon sessions enabled everyone to get creative by imagining what a Grampian HA community could be like 40 years from now in 2055 and focused on the big business plan challenges.
Commenting on the event, Mike Stevenson said: “Grampian has great people at every level and in every department. I was blown away by the creativity, spirit and passion throughout the organisation and your absolute determination to put your customers at the very heart of every decision and action. What we saw was an inspiring vision of the impacts Grampian Housing Association will make in the future – ground breaking and compelling ideas. It takes courage to look ahead, face challenges and find blindingly great solutions – that’s what you did.”
Staff received long service awards in recognition of 5, 10, 15 and 20 years continuous service, the Association’s employees of the month throughout 2014 gathered to celebrate their achievement and the birthday cake was cut by longest serving employee with 29 years’ service, Margaret Waddell.
