Link and Housing Options Scotland showcase partnership at Independent Living event
Link Group Ltd and Housing Options Scotland continued to work together to raise awareness of crucial housing options by participating in the Independent Living Scotland event, at Glasgow’s SEC last week.
The event gave people with disabilities and their families and carers the chance to discover the most innovative products on the market to aid independence, from homecare to rehabilitation.
Link and Housing Options Scotland attended to reach out to people living with disabilities and to raise awareness of the Scottish Government’s LIFT Open Market Shared Equity scheme.
Housing Options Scotland has worked with Link for a number of years to help people with disabilities buy a home with the scheme - which Link administers on behalf of the Scottish Government.
The scheme provides priority-group individuals with funding for up to 40% of the purchase price of a new home. It is designed to make buying a new home more affordable by reducing monthly mortgage payments and the amount required for a deposit.
Link Group chief executive, Craig Sanderson, said: “We are pleased to be working in partnership with Housing Options Scotland to raise awareness of the LIFT scheme, not only to first-time buyers, but also to priority group individuals. At a time when accessible homes are scarce, it’s important that such schemes are promoted to help more people get affordable home ownership.”
Moira Bayne, director of Housing Options Scotland, added: “The LIFT scheme has helped many of our clients find the right home in the right place. We enjoy an excellent working relationship with Link and look forward to more partnership working in the future.”
