Link becomes first UK housing association to sign up for Tech4All
As part of its commitment to help tenants get online, Link Group Limited is the first housing association in the UK to sign up for a service which provides an affordable way for tenants to buy technology.
Run by BT and Freedom Tech, the Tech4All scheme means tenants can purchase an Android tablet, Windows tablet, iPad, laptop, desktop computer or other electronic device on a monthly, interest-free basis.
Although Link is offering this opportunity primarily to tenants, it is also open to anyone who is interested.
Link’s digital inclusion officer, Craig Stephenson, said: “Link is dedicated to improving digital participation for all of its tenants and service users. One of the ways we are doing this is through access to affordable laptops and tablets. Tech4All provides an opportunity for everyone to get a chance of buying a brand-new device.”
James Gunson, director of Freedom Tech, added: “Working in partnership with the team at Link we have been able to launch a program that offers a range of technology to its customers, enabling the customer to get a great discount on both the device and the cost of paying for it over time. This is the first program of its type in the UK to be offered out to tenants which shows the focus that Link has on offering value added programs to its customers.”
