Link Housing Association receive £6,000 award from the Big Lottery
The Link tenant project at Glenpark Gardens, Cambuslang Link Housing Association (part of the Link group) has been awarded a £6,000 funding boost as part of the latest “Awards for All” funding package from the Big Lottery.
The funding is for a tenant well-being project at Link’s sheltered housing complex at Glenpark Gardens, Cambuslang.
The project aims to improve the quality of life of tenants, aged between sixty-two and ninety-nine. The money will be used to buy equipment for the complex, including a computer and printer, plants, hanging baskets and a storage box for the gardens. It will also be used for functions at the complex, bus trips as well as taster sessions on computer skills and classes on mindfulness and relaxation.
June Green, Director of Housing Services, Link Housing said: “Link is delighted to have been awarded funding from Big Lottery to help the Glenpark Gardens tenant well-being project, which will make a big difference to the residents’ lives.”
An Awards for All spokesperson said, “We are always surprised at the difference a relatively small amount of money can make providing support and advice to people in communities across Scotland. We wish Glenpark Gardens tenant well-being project all the best for the future.”
Awards for All Scotland gives out grants of between £500 and £10,000 to projects that aim to help improve local communities and the lives of people most in need. It is a partnership by sportscotland and Big Lottery Fund.
