Link in running for national charity award
Organised by Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO), the awards celebrate the amazing work of charities, community groups and people across Scotland who dedicate themselves to making Scotland a better place to live.
Link has been shortlisted in the Digital Dynamo category for its commitment to helping its tenants get online to help not only themselves but also the communities in which they live.
Its ambitious digital inclusion programme is helping to address the barriers tenants face in using computers and getting online. This programme - including digital roadshows, computer training, techy tea parties, a laptop and tablet loan scheme and access to low-cost broadband - has helped over 200 people.
Craig Sanderson, Link Group Ltd chief executive, said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the ‘Digital Dynamo’ award as this recognises our commitment to helping our tenants access employment, advice, information, support and services online.”
Martin Sime, chief executive, SCVO, said: “All the finalists have shown that they go the extra mile to help others. So much of that work goes unseen and unheard, but the Scottish Charity Awards shines a light on it so we can all say a big thank you.”
All shortlisted entries will also compete for the People’s Choice Award which will be decided by the public. To make sure Link is in with a chance, cast your vote here.
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in the Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh on Thursday 4 June.
