LinkLiving conquers the Kiltwalk for charity
A Scottish charity and its clan of tartan-clad walkers took to the streets of Edinburgh to conquer the Kiltwalk, raising more than £2,000 to help improve the lives of those most vulnerable and isolated in the community.
This is the second year running LinkLiving has taken part in the popular fundraising event, which gives participants the chance to explore rural and well-known areas of Edinburgh while raising funds for a charity of their choice.
LinkLiving is a not-for-profit organisation which currently provides socially inclusive care, support and employability services to more than 1,000 people per year.
Sarah Smith, director of LinkLiving, said: “We’re delighted to have raised more than £2,000 from the Edinburgh Kiltwalk for our cause – it’s a fantastic achievement.
“Our team of walkers included people who are improving their lives with our assistance, as well as staff and supporters of our charity. This great team walked together because they care passionately about the work LinkLiving does.
“Many of the people we work with are affected by social isolation. By encouraging people to get involved in events like the Kiltwalk, we help them make new friends and reconnect with the community.”
