Lintel Trust Charity Golf Tournament raises over £7,000
Lintel Trust’s 21st Annual Charity Golf Tournament took place at Williamwood Golf Club in Glasgow on Friday 12 June.
This annual charity event has helped to raise the sum of £7,300 to support housing and community-related projects in Scotland. Link Group came close to sweeping the board, winning the team prize, the individual prize, the scratch prize, the ladies prize, and the longest drive, (ladies) prize.
Dunedin Canmore Housing Association sponsored the team trophy, with the victorious team this year being Link Chippers. The team comprised Carol Kerr, John Robertson and Martin Montgomery and they scored a magnificent 48 points.
Link Group sponsored the individual trophy, with Carol Kerr from Link Group winning with 37 points. Second place went to Stuart Freeland of Rutherglen and Cambuslang Housing Association (37 points); third to Andrew Mannion of Link Group (35 points), and fourth to Logan Ellis of Cruden’s team with 35 points.
Andrew Mannion of Link Group won the Kingdom Housing Association scratch prize with a gross score of 80; Carol Kerr scooped the Ladies’ prize with 37 points (and the Longest Drive- Ladies), and Andrew MacEwan of MMPS’s team won the Men’s Longest Drive. Nearest the Pin prize was won by Billy Johnstone of the Irvine Housing Association team.
A raffle was also held which raised £270 on the day and this was added to the final total. Lintel would like to thank all of the sponsors - Link Group, Dunedin Canmore Housing Association, Kingdom Housing Association and Cruden Group, and all the staff at Williamwood Golf Club as well as all the teams who attended for making the day such a success.
