Local charities get festive boost from Kingdom Support & Care
Two local charities have received a festive boost with donations from Fife-based Kingdom Support & Care, a subsidiary of Kingdom Housing Association.
EATS Rosyth and Ettrick Dochart Community Hall in Falkirk received donations worth £250 each to support their foodbank work, helping people in need over Christmas.
Founded in 2015, EATS Rosyth aims to improve food education, reduce waste, and grow and share food. The donation of £250 was used to buy supermarket vouchers for families in need over the festive period.
Ettrick Dochart Community Hall in Falkirk offers support to the community throughout the year and at this time of year provides Christmas food boxes for families that would otherwise not get a Christmas meal.
In addition to the donations, individuals supported by Kingdom Support & Care offered their time and help by packing food parcels for later distribution throughout the community.
Norah Smith, Kingdom Support & Care’s executive director, said: “We’re very proud to be able to support EATS Rosyth and Ettrick Dochart Community Hall and the invaluable support they offer at this time of year. Though operating year round, these organisations are particularly important at Christmas when household finances can be extremely stretched.
“At Kingdom Support & Care we are very much part of the communities in which we operate. It’s brilliant to see some of the people we work with giving up their own time and volunteering to help others. I know that their hard work will make a huge difference to many people this year.”
