Loreburn Housing Association hosts community event in Stranraer
A football festival was held last weekend as part of a year of events to celebrate Stranraer’s 400th anniversary of becoming a royal borough.
The event was organised by Loreburn Housing Association with assistance from the volunteers at Millennium FC and Lochryan Boys Club who are both based in Stranraer. The event was free event to attend thanks to funding assistance from Stranraer FC, Holywood Trust and Loreburn Housing Association.
Over the two days a total of nine youth football clubs from Dumfries and Galloway attended bringing 59 teams to the event which took place at Stranraer Academy. In total of 473 boys and girls aged between 5 and 11 participated each receiving a medal engraved with Stranraer 400 2017 as a memento of the event.
