Loreburn welcomes new CEO and director
Loreburn Housing Association has appointed Kirsteen McGinn as chief executive officer following the departure of Lorraine Usher in April.
Kirsteen officially joined the Association on 26 June, after a successful five years as director of property services at Argyll Community Housing Association and brings more than 20 years of experience in the sector to her new role.
Russell Brown, convener of Loreburn’s Management Committee, said: “Following a rigorous recruitment process we are delighted to appoint Kirsteen as our new CEO.
“She is a passionate, forward thinking and knowledgeable professional who will lead our staff team, support the governing body, and actively embrace Loreburn’s wider aspirations.
“We’re looking forward to working together under her leadership to further our work to improve lives and communities across our region.”
Kirsteen has held several senior roles in the housing sector, and has previously worked at River Clyde Homes, Rutherglen and Cambuslang Housing Association and Shettleston Housing Association.
Loreburn said her extensive skills and knowledge will complement its strategic direction and help drive its ongoing commitment to the provision of high-quality homes and service delivery in local communities.
Kirsteen said: “It’s a privilege to be appointed to lead a progressive and customer and community focussed Association.
“Loreburn is at an exciting time in its development, as we explore new ways to work with our partners to provide high quality homes and services across the region. It is of course also a time of challenge and economic uncertainty – for tenants and the sector as a whole.
“I’m looking forward to working with Loreburn’s dedicated and talented staff, tenants, and stakeholders to continue the commitment to create great places to live and to build on Loreburn’s well-deserved reputation.
“I want Loreburn to remain a great place to work where we keep driving great outcomes for our tenants and communities.
Lawrie West, who has been Loreburn’s CEO in an interim capacity since April 2023 said: “I’ve enjoyed my appointment and have been really impressed with the quality of staff I’ve worked with.
“I’d like to thank everyone for all the support staff and Committee members have given me during my appointment and am sure Loreburn will be in good hands with Kirsteen leading the organisation.”
Loreburn has also welcomed Gavin Johnston, who took up the permanent position of director of property and development in May after the departure of the previous director, Gary Alison.
Gavin joined Loreburn from Ferguslie Park Housing Association, having previously worked in asset management and development in both the public and private sectors.
He said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to work within such a dynamic team, who prioritise customer service excellence. I am firmly committed to continuing the great work Loreburn are known for, striving to ensure our customers receive the highest level of service.
“As a forward-thinking organisation, Loreburn continually seeks new ways to enhance our homes and services, and I believe I can help to continue the Association’s evolution as we look towards future opportunities to grow our business.
“Joining a company that values innovation and embraces a progressive mindset is truly exciting. I am confident that together, we will continue to raise the bar within the sector, providing unmatched support and creating a long-term positive impact on the lives of our customers and the environment we share.”
