Loretto gets green light for Cardonald homes for the elderly
Loretto Housing Association has been granted permission to develop 32 homes in Cardonald.
The development in Hallrule Drive will be situated on the site of the former Berryknowes Resource Centre.
The homes – 24 flats and 8 cottage flats, including 3 wheelchair flats – will be specifically designed by MAST Architects for older tenants.
A communal garden will be created at the centre of the development, while 23 off-street car parking spaces will be provided.
David Fletcher, Wheatley Group director of development, told Scottish Housing News: “Plans are at a very early stage but we’re looking forward to seeing these 32 much-needed affordable homes taking shape.”
Work on the new homes should start in January 2020 and is expected to be complete around March 2021.
