Lottery success for Atrium Homes
Shortlees residents are celebrating the announcement of a successful funding award of over £59,000 to Atrium Homes from the Our Place Big Lottery funding programme.
Atrium Homes will start work in the next few months on its Welcome to Shortlees project, following the award of £59,360, to provide an entrance feature of landscaped beds, shrub planting and a small feature wall and entrance sign to help give the main access route into the area better definition and a better sense of place.
Atrium’s head of operations, Joyce McCroskie, who prepared the bid for the Atrium project, said: “We’re facilitating this project on behalf of all the people in the greater Shortlees area, regardless of tenure. We’ve noticed other areas around Kilmarnock have these defining entrance features and we felt Shortlees would benefit from one too. We’re really looking forward to working with the community to make this project happen.”
Big Lottery Fund Scotland chair, Maureen McGinn, said: “I am delighted that the community of Shortlees will benefit from this National Lottery funding. The Project will enable local people to set out a vision for their community and participate more fully in activities taking place in the local area.”
