Major new regeneration vision proposed for Inverness
A bold and ambitious strategy to transform Inverness into the place to live, work, enjoy and do business in Scotland will be presented to the City of Inverness Area Committee next week.
The report highlights the major investment the city centre and its surrounding 20-minute neighbourhoods is currently benefitting from.
It showcases an ambitious draft vision for the city centre that proposes getting more people living and working back in the city centre and transforming spaces between buildings to be more welcoming, attractive and zero carbon.
The report also highlights the detailed framework that has been prepared to support and deliver this proposed change including the Local Development Plan and work looking at the city’s identity for residents and visitors.
These framework documents culminate in a strong evidence-led approach that will inform the city’s transformation, which Members will be asked to approve for consultation with key stakeholders including local communities, businesses and other parties working to deliver positive change across the city and region.
