Man charged with assault following incident at River Clyde Homes office
Police have charged a man with assault after a River Clyde Homes staff member was allegedly attacked at its office in Greenock on Monday.
Officers were called to the Clyde Square premises around 11.20am.
The female employee is in hospital receiving treatment following the incident and River Clyde Homes has closed its public offices until further notice as a precaution.
The association tweeted on Monday: “Due to an ongoing incident our Greenock Town Centre and Broomhill offices will remain closed.
“If you need to contact us, call us or arrange to visit our Roxburgh House offices in Greenock.”
A spokesperson for River Clyde Homes said: “We can confirm that an incident took place at our offices in Greenock and an employee is in hospital receiving treatment. Our priority is ensuring the full recovery of our colleague and supporting the safety of all of our staff and customers.
“We are currently working with the police to support their investigation and would encourage anyone with any information to come forward and speak to the police right away.
“As a precaution and to support our front-facing colleagues, our two public offices in Greenock town centre and in Broomhill will be closed until further notice.

Officers arrested a 53-year-old man in connection with the incident.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “I can confirm that a 53-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault following an incident at around 11.20am today (Monday) at Clyde Square in Greenock. Enquiries are ongoing.”
