Manor Estates depute CEO Carolyn Hughes to retire
Carolyn Hughes, the housing management director/depute CEO at Manor Estates Housing Association, has decided to retire after nineteen years and will be leaving the Association on 26th July 2024.
Carolyn has made a huge positive contribution to social housing within Edinburgh over the years. Manor Estates said she will be greatly missed by staff, board members and by colleagues across the housing sector.
Carolyn said: “I’ve seen many changes over the past 19 years, both at Manor Estates and throughout the sector. It has been a privilege to work for the Association during some exciting and challenging times. I hugely appreciate the support I have had from colleagues (at Manor and beyond) and board members over the years and am proud to have been part of an organisation that strives to provide excellent services to all our tenants.”
Manor Estates has also welcomed Nicola Stobie as its new housing management director, who joined the Association on 15th July 2024. Nicola joins with a wealth of knowledge and experience, most recently at Argyll Community Housing Association.
Nicola said: “I am delighted to have joined the fantastic team at Manor Estates, to be taking over from a highly respected director/depute CEO and working back in Edinburgh. The sector faces some challenging times but there are also great opportunities ahead.”
Claire Ironside, CEO, added: “Everyone at Manor Estates, wishes Carolyn a very long and happy retirement. Her retiral represents a huge change for the Association and in particular the housing management team, after all these years. Simultaneously, we are excited about Nicola joining us, bringing new experiences and views to the Association.”
