Mansion House Group reaffirms commitment to Glenrothes development despite land sale
Mansion House Group has insisted its commitment to the delivery of a 200-home housing development at Whitehill Industrial Estate in Glenrothes despite listing the land for sale for £3.5 million.
In April 2021, the firm submitted an application in principle to Fife Council to build new detached homes and apartments which would stand on the site of the former piggery, which developers said is now home to a mix of occupied and unoccupied buildings in varying states of disrepair.
However, Mansion House Group is attempting to sell the 7.2-hectare estate, which lies next to Glenrothes Gold Club, The Courier reports.
Jon G Wylson, the firm’s planning and sales director, said: “Having secured planning in principle for 200 residential units we are now marketing the site to local and national housebuilders.
“It offers a rare opportunity to purchase a sustainable brownfield development site within Fife.”
He added however: “Due to the size of the site this is best suited to medium to large housebuilders and we have received strong interest.”
Mr Wylson stressed that the firm remained “committed to the delivery of the development, whether this be in partnership with a housebuilder or as a sale of the whole”.
