Martin Wilkie-McFarlane to stand down as Wellhouse director
Wellhouse Housing Association director Martin Wilkie-McFarlane is to stand down from his role on 31 August 2023.
Martin joined Wellhouse Housing Association in early 2016 during its period of statutory intervention – the first such association to be subject to the, then-new, powers of the Scottish Housing Regulator.
The intervention ended within six months of his being in post. Since then, Wellhouse has become a successful, financially secure organisation with a strong governing body and a dedicated staff team.
Martin said: “Wellhouse’s achievements wouldn’t have been possible without the dedicated management committee and a great staff team. I know Wellhouse will continue to go from strength to strength when I hand over the reins and look forward to the next chapter in my life which will involve a portfolio of volunteer roles and interim/ consultancy work, so you will still see me around the sector.”
Wellhouse Housing Association’s chair Maureen Morris added: “On behalf of the entire committee, I’d like to thank Martin for his hard work and dedication and for leading Wellhouse to be the organisation it is today: strong, confident and financially secure with plans for extensive reinvestment in our homes, environmental improvements across Wellhouse, refreshed community development initiatives and a new period of development to deliver new homes – he has always truly understood our aim to make Wellhouse the place to be.”
Recruitment will be underway imminently with the aim that the new director starts before Martin’s departure, to allow a detailed handover.
