Maryhill Housing Association has been given a ringing endorsement on how it engages its employees and supports them to excel after business improvement organisation Best Companies accredited the Association with ‘One To Watch’ status.

The accolade is even more remarkable as it is the first time the Association has applied for accreditation and 89 per cent of its employees completed the Best Companies survey online – well above the UK Best Companies average of 78 per cent for not-for-profit organisations.

The Best Companies survey is challenging and tests companies on a range of factors including its leadership, team working, opportunity for personal growth and wellbeing.

There was an immediate community benefit to the Best Companies’ survey. For every employee who responded the Association donated £3 per completed survey. That added up to £246 which has been donated to the local Ruchill Furniture Project.

Lynn added: “The value of Best Companies is that it gives us a better understanding of what motivates and engages our employees. That helps us identify areas where we can improve and we can look at a wealth of information including best practice at other accredited companies.
