Michael Allan elected as new chair of Cairn Housing Association
Cairn Housing Association has appointed Michael Allan its new chairperson after Simon Guest stood down after three years at the helm.
Vice-chair Allan was elected at Cairn’s 2019 Annual General Meeting.
Simon Guest said: “It has been a great privilege to serve as Cairn’s Chair for the last three years and I am grateful to our Board members and staff team for their hard work and support.
“This has been a period of modernisation for the association and we can look ahead to a bright future with sound governance, financial stability and a fantastic staff team.”
Michael Allan added: “I am delighted to take up the role of chair of Cairn Housing Association. It is an exciting time for the association, having secured new financing, welcomed ANCHO as a partner of the new Cairn Housing Group and launched an ambitious new build development programme. I look forward to supporting our team through the next stage of our development.
“We are all grateful to Simon for his invaluable contribution to Cairn. Simon’s leadership has put Cairn on a firm footing for an exciting future and we are all delighted that he will continue as a board member.”
Michael Allan worked for 32 years in the retail sector in various roles including audit, training, property, human resources and customer service. He is also a Cairn tenant and has served on Cairn’s board for the last seven years, including the last three years as vice-chair.
In other changes; Don Jamieson has been elected as vice-chair; John Clark, Gill Walch and David Venters have stood down from the board and Jackie Browne continues as the representative on Cairn’s board from ANCHO.
