Miller Homes gets green light for Angus development
Miller Homes has been granted planning permission by Angus Council for a development of 164 homes including 43 affordable properties on the site of the former Ashludie Hospital in Monifieth.
The development will comprise of a mixture of 2, 3, 4 and 5 bed private family homes alongside 1, 2 and 3 bed affordable homes and will include the renovation and restoration of a listed building on the site.
David Morgan, land director for Miller Homes, said: “We are delighted that our joint application with the site’s owner NHS Tayside has been granted subject to the completion of a legal planning agreement which is expected shortly. Our development proposals have been well considered and will go some way towards addressing a long standing housing shortfall whilst enhancing the area at the same time.”
David added: “During the life of this project we will also be working carefully to ensure the attractive landscape setting within this brownfield site is both protected and enhanced for future generations.”
The housebuilder is hoping to start work on the infrastructure later this year.
