As many of in the housing sector will be aware, Misia had brain surgery in September, which has been followed by further treatment.

As a result, Misia has made the very difficult decision to step down from her role as service improvement manager to focus her time on family and friends.

A lifelong career in social housing, Misia has worked in a number of roles, notably as a development manager, as an independent researcher, as a policy maker with SHN’s colleagues at the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA) and as a trainer for a number of housing providers.

A spokesperson at Scotland’s Housing Network said: “Misia is known and loved across the sector, her enthusiasm and commitment to not only SHN but to our members and the wider sector is second to none. Misia spent most of her time working with our RSL members, specialising in performance improvement and achieving sustainable development in social housing, but she is also well known to our council members too.

“Misia was a regular attendee at the CIH conference and was a superb advocate for the work of SHN. A valued team member that constantly challenged the status quo.

“Misia is a much-loved member of the SHN family, she has nurtured the team sharing her experience and knowledge in policy and practice, energy efficiency, new technology, asset management and development. All agree that we are a much more knowledgeable team for having worked with Misia over the years.

“Whilst Misia will no longer be a colleague at SHN, she will remain a firm friend and a much-loved member of our ‘social team’.

“We hope that you will join us in wishing Misia a very happy early retirement.”
