Kingdom Housing Association met with representatives from Mitsubishi Electric Corporation and Heriot Watt University keen to learn more about the Housing Innovation Showcase at Dunlin Drive, Dunfermline.

The £3.3m project was developed by Kingdom Housing Association as a partnership project with Fife Council and the Scottish Government, supported by Green Business Fife and Fife Construction Forum.

In conjunction with Napier University, Kingdom are progressing a two year monitoring and evaluation study looking at the relationship between Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), new technologies and resident satisfaction levels.

Toshiya Yoshida, Design & Marketing Manager, Mitsubishi Electric R&D Centre Europe said , “I was so impressed that there are such advanced renewable energy products and systems already in use and that real life data is being monitored in our local region!”

Professor Sue Roaf, Heriot-Watt University added, “Kingdom Housing is helping Scotland to lead the way in promoting low energy and low carbon building development by not only exploring different ways in building ‘sustainable value’ into their homes but also by sharing this knowledge with the rest of the community. They must be applauded for both.”
