More than £250k in energy grants available for park home residents
Permanent residents of park homes or static caravans in Scotland can potentially access £261,750 of dedicated energy grant payments through the Charis Park Homes Warm Home Discount Scheme.
The funds have been set aside specifically for Scottish park home residents who are not in direct contact with their energy supplier and pay for their gas and electricity directly to the site owners.
Individual payments of £150 from the Warm Home Discount scheme are available to full-time park home residents who fulfil eligibility criteria. The scheme is set up in partnership with Eon and is Ofgem approved and regulated. Residents can apply through an online application process.
“There is a sector of society that live slightly off-grid and is not picked up by the usual systems but still meets the criteria required for financial and practical support”, commented Charis’s business development director, Oliver Gray. “They might not be aware that they are eligible for a hardship grant and are putting themselves under unnecessary pressure despite help being out there.”

The Park Homes scheme came out of a conversation between Charis and the Association of Park Home Residents to fully understand the nature of the problems faced by park home residents. After a small pilot, the scheme was originally rolled out in 2015, distributing over £3.3 million to nearly 24,000 park homes across the UK and Scotland.
