Motivational staff away day at Langstane Housing Association
Langstane Housing Association’s senior management team expressed their heartfelt thanks to all the staff and Board of Management members who participated in the recent away day.
The event was planned to help inform a revised Business Plan that will set the Association’s direction for the next three years.
Over 80 people contributed to a very successful day which saw many positive ideas on how the Association can “be the best we can be”.
Special thanks went to two guest speakers who not only provided their time free of charge, but helped ensure the day was a great success.
Stephen Millar, managing partner, CMS, started off the day with a motivational talk on how CMS moved from being ranked medium to become the world’s 6th largest law firm by lawyer headcount and 6th largest in the UK by revenue.
Later in the day Phionna McInnes, chief executive, MeToo! Magazine, gave another motivational talk. This time it was about how she and other parents of children with additional support needs, started a free quarterly magazine covering activities in Aberdeen City and Shire. Phionna talked about “choosing your attitude” when faced with adversity and the importance of not being a victim.
Helen Gauld, chief executive at Langstane, said: “We believe that our diverse and dynamic speakers provided an in-depth insight into becoming the best we can be. Langstane Housing Association will continue to make progress with the implementation of its Business Plan so that we can proudly ‘be the best we can be’ moving forward.”
