MSPs hear how Cube successfully engages with tenants
A delegation of MSPs visited Cube Housing Association last week to hear how it engages with tenants.
Members of the Scottish Parliament’s local government and communities committee visited Cube’s offices at Maryhill Burgh Halls in Glasgow.
The MSPs heard about how Cube, which is part of Wheatley Group, is improving homes and communities across central Scotland.
They were particularly interested in Cube’s ‘We’re Here to Help’ campaign, which saw staff visit tenants in every neighbourhood to ask their views on how to improve services.
As a result of the campaign, a number of improvements were introduced, including a free phone number and support to set up a local credit union.
Bob Doris MSP, committee convenor, said: “We were very interested to see how housing associations engage directly with tenants and communities.
“We were interested in the challenges and opportunities they face and how we can work in partnership with Cube, Wheatley Group and other housing providers.”
Cube director David MacKenzie said: “We were delighted to welcome the committee to see how Cube is improving tenants’ lives.”
