Muir Homes consulting community on new Dalgety Bay homes
Muir Homes has launched a community consultation on proposals to provide new high-quality homes at a vacant plot of land at Fulmar Way, close to Asda, in Dalgety Bay.
The family-run Scottish housebuilder, with head offices in Fife, is seeking local community views on how the derelict land could be developed for residential housing for the area.
The consultation includes details posted to residents and businesses in the area adjacent to the site. It encourages residents to send feedback and ideas on the plans by email, telephone or online via the specially created consultation page on its website. The deadline for comment is 7 November 2022.
As part of the consultation process, Muir Homes has also sent details to the local Dalgety Bay and Hillend Community Council.
The proposals include improvements to the open space adjacent to an existing play area, and to create a new well-lit footpath through the development to the shops and transport options. Muir will also incorporate a landscaped barrier to reduce any potential noise from the traffic or neighbouring employment uses.
The development is allocated for housing in the council’s adopted FIFEplan and the site is close to transport and amenities to the north of Dalgety Bay.
Muir Homes is undertaking a voluntary consultation and will take on board local views before submitting a planning application to Fife Council later this year.
Nicola McCowan Hill, land and planning manager at Muir Homes, said: “We want residents’ views to help shape the proposals for this important development on an allocated housing site.
“We want to build quality homes and help add to the thriving community at Dalgety Bay and through participation in this consultation we look forward to receiving feedback on the proposals from the local community. We will consider the feedback and comments received during this period before any future planning application is submitted.”
The proposals and virtual exhibition can be viewed on Muir Homes’ consultation website.
