Muirhouse Housing Association attends North Edinburgh Community Festival
Muirhouse Housing Association helped serve up a sizzler of summer fun for the local community in Edinburgh at the weekend.
Community-focused Muirhouse was one of the participating organisations which supported the spectacular North Edinburgh Community Festival held at West Pilton Park.
It has been growing in popularity each year and attracted a large crowd of families on Saturday keen to experience a range of fun activities and feel a sense of community which was central to the event.
The Festival remains one of the key highlights of the North Edinburgh community’s summer calendar of activities.
Fortunately, for the third year in a row, the weather was kind with a burst of early summer sunshine helping to encourage people to attend from across the Muirhouse and Pilton communities and further afield.
The Muirhouse stall was a huge draw among families with young children as it offered kids the opportunity – appropriately for a housing association – to build a home using colourful giant play bricks. They could also show their artistic skills by colouring in a large cardboard house structure.
Muirhouse Housing Association – as part of its ongoing commitment to supporting its North Edinburgh neighbourhood – said it was proud to be part of such an event which undoubtedly brought people together. It made a donation to ensure there were enough funds to ensure its success.
The Muirhouse team who were there on the day were Community Engagement Officer Debbie Brown, Customer Support Assistant Lee McEwan, Corporate Services Administrator Wayne Morris and Julia Cairns, Finance Officer.
Muirhouse Housing Association chief executive, Susan Bell, said: “The North Edinburgh Festival is an occasion which draws large crowds each year offering literally something for everyone. It was wonderful to see our communities coming together with a firm emphasis on family fun and togetherness.
“As a local organisation participating in such an event, it offered the opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to the wider local community. It also allowed our staff to meet with residents of North Edinburgh in a less formal setting.”
