National awards for 10 Taylor Wimpey site managers
Ten site managers from Taylor Wimpey developments across Scotland are celebrating, having each won a prestigious national housebuilding award – the NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Awards.
Now in its 44th year, the Pride in the Job Quality Awards have become the benchmark for exceptional site managers and are awarded following a rigorous judging process. Thousands of inspections have taken place to determine this year’s 449 winners from a field of more than 8,000 sites, and Taylor Wimpey’s 10 winners in Scotland puts them in the top 5% of UK site managers.
Taylor Wimpey West Scotland’s Pride in the Job Quality Award 2024 winners are David McClure (Castle Gate, Maidenhill); Scott McCreadie (Duncarnock, Barrhead); David Cunningham (Amble Court, East Kilbride); David Morrison (Benthall Farm, East Kilbride); Sean McKeever (Dargavel Village, Bishopton); Stuart Gillespie (Oakwood View, Hamilton) and Stuart Rowan (Oakwood Grove, Hamilton).
Taylor Wimpey East Scotland’s Pride in the Job Quality Award 2024 winners are Gavin Bianchi (Sinclair Gardens, Roslin); Mitchell Davies (Spencer Fields, Inverkeithing) and James Canning (Hawthorn Gardens, South Queensferry).
Each of these award-winning site managers will progress to the Scottish regional awards final later this year to determine who is the best of the best in Scotland.
Each site manager is assessed across six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise, and health and safety. Thousands of site inspections, meticulous scoring, and verifications have taken place to decide the winning site managers. Each of these Quality Award winners will now go on to compete for Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards in the autumn, with the national Supreme Award winners unveiled in January 2025.
Brian Henderson, production director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “Achieving and maintaining the highest levels of quality and customer service is very important to our business, and we are pleased to receive this independent industry recognition. These individual awards are tough to achieve and we’re very proud that we have some of the best site managers working for our business in Scotland. Their success in these awards demonstrates our drive to deliver the highest quality, service and commitment to our customers.”
Tommy Stirling, production director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, added: “We have always been committed to maintaining the highest levels of quality and customer service, and we continue to be an NHBC award-winning homebuilder year after year. These awards are thoroughly deserved and we’re incredibly proud of our three winners in the east of Scotland region.”
Steve Wood, CEO at the NHBC, said: “For more than four decades, Pride in the Job has underpinned NHBC’s purpose of raising standards in house building. The competition recognises the UK’s top site managers, showcasing best practice and rewarding excellence.
“Winning site managers demonstrate dedication, passion and leadership to ensure new homes are delivered to exacting construction quality standards. While house building is a team effort, we believe the greatest influence on the quality of a finished home is the calibre of the site manager and the way they inspire their team. Congratulations to all the winners.”
Pride in the Job has five categories: small, medium and large builders, plus multi-storey for projects up to seven storeys and high-rise for projects more than seven storeys.
The Quality Award winners will go on to compete for Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards in the autumn, with the national Supreme Award winners unveiled in January 2025.
