Group director of corporate services and company secretary Neil Hall has retired from Link Housing Association this month after 45 years in senior leadership roles for Scotland’s second-largest housing organisation.

After starting in Link’s finance team in 1978, Neil progressed to become Link’s financial director before moving into his current position of group director of corporate services.

Reflecting on his career and upcoming retirement, Neil said: “It’s been an enormous pleasure and privilege to dedicate my career to supporting people and communities across Scotland.

“I’ve been lucky to work with exceptional colleagues and to lead talented teams throughout my time with the group.

“During my 45 years with Link, I have always been amazed by the dedication on display from the individuals working across the business to make lives better.

“As I say goodbye to my colleagues, I’m really pleased to see Link is in safe hands and the organisation is positioned to support even more people and families as it continues to grow to meet the demands of communities across Scotland.

“I have also been grateful to have forged really positive working relationships with lenders, solicitors and other external partners throughout my career and I would like to thank them for being such positive allies.”

As a member of the leadership team, Neil was key in Link’s success during the 30 years Craig Sanderson was CEO, and he continued to be a leading talent in Link’s Group leadership team when Jon Turner became Link Group CEO in 2019.

Reflecting on Neil’s retirement Jon Turner said: “It is impossible to do justice to the impact Neil has had on Link and the communities we work in.

“The impact that Link as an organisation has had over many years and the current financial resilience of the business can be attributed in no small part to Neil’s hard work and expertise.

“Safe to say, Neil’s pragmatism and diligence will be missed, and I want to thank Neil for the support he has given me since becoming Link CEO alongside thanking him for all he has brought to the organisation.”
