New application outlines 370-home proposal at Edmonstone Estate
The first two phases of development at Edmonstone Estate have been outlined in a new application for matters specified in condition lodged with the City of Edinburgh Council.
Hunter Ardent Developments said it wants to deliver “an attractive, inclusive and well connected development for residential rental accommodation in keeping with the established character of new residential development in Edinburgh”.
Under the new proposals, 370 dwellings for rent, 35% of which will be classified as affordable, will be provided along with integration with the surrounding public open space network, including SUDS and mature trees and woodland belts.
The homes delivered will include a range of two, three and four-storey homes. The proposed new homes will provide one, two, three-bedroom properties in a range of formats from detached homes to flats.
Planning permission in principle (PPP) was granted by the Scottish Ministers on appeal in July 2015 for residential development across the entire allocated site.
Following the approval of 14/01057/PPP, an application for the approval of matters specified in Conditions 1 and 6 covering the entire allocated site was approved by the council in September 2018.
Scott Hobbs Planning, FourWard Architecture & Masterplanning Ltd, InDev Consult, Transport Planning Ltd, Hoare Lea and GIA all assisted with the application.
