Returning to a four-person team, the Association has appointed Matt MacAulay as director of property assets position and Mhorag Ewen as director of housing services alongside director of finance and corporate services, Joanne Ramsay and CEO David Lappin.

Mhorag takes on this role having worked for Castlehill for over 12 years, latterly holding the position of housing services manager. Mhorag will be responsible for ensuring that all services to tenants are delivered professionally and in line with regulatory requirements. Matt was appointed to the post in November 2022 and brings to the role extensive experience working in social housing and property, latterly at Aberdeenshire Council.

Chief executive David Lappin said of the appointments: “We are pleased to have appointed Matt and Mhorag to join myself and Joanne Ramsay, our Finance and Corporate Services Director on our Management Team. They both have a clear vision which will serve Castlehill well as we navigate the cost-of-living crisis and the challenges of future building standards and regulations. These changes strengthen Castlehill and ensure our ability to provide a high quality, modern service to our tenants.”

Matt, who has over 30 years of experience in the housing and construction field, said: “I’m delighted to be joining Castlehill, which has an excellent reputation for high-quality services. I’m looking forward to working with the team and focussing on how we maximise compliance with EESSH2 and Net Zero targets during this cost-of-living crisis. The team is committed to the communities that it serves.”

Mhorag will be responsible for the delivery of the housing management, housing support and care & eepair and will be overseeing Castlehill’s IT systems.

Mhorag added: “I am delighted to take on the role of director of housing services. There continues to be lots to do, to support CHA tenants and customers during the cost-of-living crisis. I am also looking forward to getting involved with Castlehill Housing Trust and Aberdeen Care & Repair.”

As Mhorag moves to the director role the Association is delighted to have recruited Jennifer Soley who takes over as housing services manager. Jennifer joins Castlehill With extensive experience in social housing, most recently with Angus Council.
