New Board members appointed at Scotland’s Housing Network
Scotland’s Housing Network appointed two new Board members when the organisation held its annual seminar and AGM last week.
The well-attended event included excellent key note presentations from both Dr Neil Hamlet and Professor Douglas Robertson. Neil spoke about Health and Homelessness giving the view from public health and emphasised that housing is a bedrock to wellbeing and health. Douglas’ review of housing policy over the last 30 years and what impact this had had was thought provoking.
Elaine Byrne, director of Scotland’s Housing Network, also updated delegates on the network’s achievements and new developments over the last year. Elaine also set out the ambitious plans the network has for the forthcoming year to ensure the network continues to meet members’ needs and maintains its position as the leading benchmarking and practice exchange network in Scotland.
The AGM also approved the appointment of new Board members Graeme Winning, of East Ayrshire Council, and Mike Wood, of South Lanarkshire Council.
Scotland’s Housing Network chair, John Wolstencroft, said: “I’m delighted to welcome both Graeme and Mike to join our board. They both have strong skillsets and are well versed in what the network has to offers its members. I’m certain they will be excellent contributors to the board.”
