Currently the managing director of Dawn Homes, which Springfield acquired in 2018, Mr Egan will oversee private home building in the group’s central belt, encompassing Dawn, Walker and Springfield Private.

Since joining the Springfield group two years ago, he has spearheaded several strategic projects including securing planning permission for Durieshill – the largest development to be approved in Scotland in a single sitting.

His promotion into this new role is seen as a vital step in Springfield’s overall growth strategy and supports the firm as it continues to expand its development portfolio across all corners of the country. As chief operating officer for central, Martin will oversee activity across the central belt, with a focus on the company’s private home building divisions. He will also be responsible for steering two of Springfield’s largest developments – Durieshill, just outside of Stirling, and Gavieside in West Lothian.

Alasdair Mackie

Alasdair Mackie has also been promoted from within the firm to group engineering director. Mr Mackie joined Springfield over a decade ago, as an engineering manager and has successfully risen through the business, reflecting Springfield’s commitment to supporting the growth of its people.

In addition to promoting from within, Springfield has also brought in a raft of new faces. Ken Miller, Karen Campbell and Richard Bennett join the housebuilding firm as the sector prepares to reopen show homes following the coronavirus shut down, and each of the appointees has been instrumental to operations to get sites re-opened quickly, and safely across Scotland.

Ken Millar will take on the position of group health & safety director and joins Springfield from national construction, housebuilding and infrastructure firm, Robertson Group, where he was group health & safety director for five years. Prior to that Ken worked for national housebuilder CALA for 11 years as group health & safety director.

Karen Campbell will take on the position of group corporate communications director, supporting the business as it expands its development portfolio. She joins from the Scottish Futures Trust where she led the housing team, establishing various initiatives which support the delivery of housing across Scotland. Karen is a well-known figure within the industry, and previously held the position of director of policy & operations at Homes for Scotland.

Richard Bennett joins Springfield from global facilities management company Altaian Servest where he was head of group asset management for the UK & Ireland. He has been appointed to the position of managing director of Glassgreen, Plant & Equipment Hire and brings with him more than 35 years’ experience in plant and transport operations.
