New council homes taking shape at Carnock Road, Dunfermline
Progress is being made with Fife Council’s affordable housing development at the site of a former warehouse and petrol station in Dunfermline.
The development at Carnock Road started back in July 2015 with some of the properties already being occupied by tenants during March and April this year.
The 32 new Council houses for rent are being delivered in partnership with Allan Water Homes. There are a wide variety of new homes on this site, ranging from one-bedroomed cottage flats to five-bedroomed homes, including ground floor flats and two bungalows for individual needs.
Councillor Judy Hamilton, Fife Council’s executive spokesperson for Housing & Building Services recently visited the site to see the progress being made.
She said: “Housebuilding is picking up pace as we enter this very exciting phase of our Affordable Housing Programme and I was delighted to be at Carnock Road with Ward Councillor, Cllr Bob Young, to meet with tenants, delighted with their new homes - and to see the progress on the completion of this development. The houses are modern, fit for purpose, and energy efficient homes, delivering on our commitment to warmer, drier, healthier homes which aim to tackle fuel poverty and improve living standards. This is only one of a number of sites under construction to meet our commitment to deliver 2,700 new affordable homes by 2017”
