New Gorbals colleagues raise over £4300 with charity run
New Gorbals Housing Association’s recently formed team of runners, The New Gorbals Harriers, took on and completed the Edinburgh Half Marathon on Sunday to raise more than £4,300 for their two chosen charities.
The Harriers have been taking donations for the Brain Tumour Charity and Breast Cancer Care in recognition of their colleagues who have been directly affected by these diseases.
All six runners did a fantastic job on the day, and completed the race in fewer than two and half hours. Star runner Paul Cowan made it to the finish line in an impressive 1 hour 35 minutes.
The Harriers and New Gorbals staff have been overwhelmed by the number of generous donations that have been received and are delighted to have smashed their £2,000 target. In the past two months, New Gorbals are proud to have helped raise over £7600 for charity between the half marathon and a 5 a side football tournament.
New Gorbals Housing Association would like to congratulate The New Gorbals Harriers on their achievement and thank everyone who donated.
There is still time if you would like to donate.
