New look and new name for Greenock tower block
River Clyde Homes is unveiling a new look for Cartsdyke Apartments, the 12-storey block in the east end of Greenock.
Not only is there a new look and a new name, but it’s being given a new purpose as it becomes the latest addition to the housing association’s Silver Living stock. Silver Living is designed for the over 60s and offers independent living with peace of mind and added security features.
Cartsdyke Apartments have benefitted from a £2 million facelift including new insulation, triple glazed windows and a new eco-friendly, energy efficient heating system. In addition the foyer and landings have been revamped to provide a welcoming environment. A new CCTV system and door entry has been installed to provide a secure living environment.
A number of these 2-bedroom homes are now available to let with a weekly rental of £77.18, and only one week’s rent payable in advance.
A showflat will be open to the public on Tuesday 15 November between 11am – 3pm to provide potential customers with a chance to see the high quality of the finish for themselves. They will be able to speak to members of staff about Silver Living and how to get a new home in Cartsdyke Apartments.
Jillian Moffat, vice-chair of the River Clyde Homes Board, said: “Silver Living is an initiative that comes in response to the changing demographics of Inverclyde. We have an increasing older population and suitable properties, particularly in the East End of Greenock are in short supply. These 2-bedroom homes have been refurbished to a high standard and comprise a separate living room and kitchen, a modern bathroom with a level access shower. They are perfect for those…. and are close to local shops and transport.”
