New MD takes reins at Dunedin Canmore
Dunedin Canmore has appointed Hazel Young as its new managing director.
Previously housing and customer service director at the Edinburgh, Lothians and Fife based association, which is part of Wheatley Group, Hazel succeeds Ewan Fraser, who will retire at the end of the year as chief executive of Dunedin Canmore.
During a career in housing spanning more than 20 years, Hazel has worked in several senior management roles within Wheatley Group since 2008, including director of policy and service development at Wheatley and south area housing director at Glasgow Housing Association.
“These are exciting times for Dunedin Canmore,” said Hazel. “Just last week, we unveiled our massive new £110 million investment programme, which will see us build 700 new homes over the next five years and invest heavily in upgrading our existing homes.”
Dunedin Canmore chair Thomas Mitchell said: “Hazel has worked with Dunedin Canmore for the past year and demonstrated that she is an excellent leader, who will continue to drive up standards and make the homes, lives and communities of our tenants better.
“We are delighted to welcome Hazel as our managing director and for her to continue to deliver on the achievements of Dunedin Canmore to date.”
Ewan Fraser has been chief executive for 11 of the 30 years he has spent in the housing sector.
