New state-of-the-art student accommodation complete in Edinburgh
CCG has completed a new, state-of-the-art new student apartment complex in the heart of Edinburgh city centre.
The 234 bedroom development is located on Orwell Terrace in the Dalry district of the city centre and has been created for students attending Edinburgh Napier University.
The firm said the facility is “ideally suited” for student living, with the development situated within 1000m of many local amenities, including supermarkets and a sports centre as well as extensive traffic links that feed directly to some of the University’s campuses and wider parts of the city and beyond.
Rather than one continuous block, the development consists of three distinct blocks reaching four storeys to the north east, and to the south east, a stunning seven storey rotunda establishes a distinctive presence onto the more open aspect of Dalry Park.
Inside, students benefit from a modern interior and a comfortable living space.
Each student residence is arranged dual aspect – typically in clusters of 4-9 bedrooms – each benefiting from en-suite shower rooms, and a shared living room/kitchen for each flat. Wi-Fi is available to ensure suitable study conditions and ample bike storage space is securely contained within the development site.
Alastair Wylie, Chairman and CEO, CCG said: “Orwell Terrace is a modern development for the modern student, ideally located in order for young people to benefit from their studies as well as the city of Edinburgh.
“The development was constructed using CCG’s own ‘Off-Site Manufactured’ (OSM) timber frame system. Due to the size of the site and the singular access road, we simply would not have been able to deliver the project without utilising Modern Methods of Construction.
“Student housing is in high demand and a growing market for CCG. This is the third student housing project to be completed by the Group in the last two years and we look forward to growing this side of the business further in the years ahead.”
